Circle launches 24/7 stablecoin FX trading service StableFX
Circle's new service allows vetted businesses to trade stablecoin pairs on its Arc blockchain around the clock.

CryptoSlate reports that Circle has launched StableFX, a service enabling vetted businesses to trade and settle stablecoin currency pairs on its Arc blockchain at any hour. The launch targets the global foreign exchange market, which moves nearly $10 trillion daily, and operates independently of traditional banking schedules.
The platform decouples execution from settlement. Firms submit details for a currency pair, the trade size, and a desired settlement period via a quote request system, enabling approved providers to bid on the order. Trades are executed off-chain before participants fund a smart-contract escrow on the Arc network. Final settlement is completed on a payment-versus-payment basis, ensuring both stablecoin legs transfer simultaneously or not at all.
Jeremy Allaire, Circle’s chief executive, described the new tool as a robust foundation for handling instantaneous, atomic settlements in digital currency trades.
The Arc blockchain reached mainnet status on Sept. 16, just under a week prior to the StableFX release. Current developer documentation lists two supported assets: USDC and euro-denominated EURC, featuring a sample trade between the two. Participation is limited to eligible incorporated entities, including corporate treasury desks, financial institutions, and payment companies.
