WisdomTree and MoonPay will build a distribution channel for WisdomTree's tokenized Treasury fund, allowing U.S. investors to buy shares through MoonPay's consumer platform. The arrangement also moves MoonPay's stablecoin reserves into the fund, a shift from traditional bank deposits to onchain-recorded assets.
WTGXX held $1.23 billion on Friday, ranking fifth in the $15.40 billion tokenized Treasury market according to rwa.xyz. This makes it the largest of WisdomTree's seven tokenized funds, which total $1.2 billion. The fund currently sits behind larger competitors like Securitize and Ondo, each holding $2.7 billion, and Circle at $2.6 billion.
MoonPay confirmed its scale in a separate filing with FT markets data, stating it supports a "network of more than 35 million accounts" and "more than 1,700 enterprise customers." Jonathan Steinberg, founder and chief executive of WisdomTree, said the partnership means "Stablecoins are reshaping how people and businesses both hold and move value."
Neither firm disclosed a launch date or the specific share of MoonPay's reserves allocated to WTGXX. This follows MoonPay's June integration of Franklin Templeton's BENJI fund, which focused on institutional swaps rather than reserve management. The new deal adds a balance-sheet component to the distribution channel, linking retail access directly to institutional reserve stability.
