According to CoinDesk, wallets associated with the FTX bankruptcy estate and Alameda Research transferred a maximum of 27,373 ether, valued at approximately $75 million, to the market maker Wintermute. PeckShieldAlert identified a single movement of 23,639 ether, worth roughly $65 million, from an Alameda- and FTX-linked address to a Wintermute account early Wednesday. Onchain analyst EmberCN reported that six wallets sent a total of 27,372 ether to the firm, a figure that suggests PeckShield captured the largest individual transfer while EmberCN combined several smaller ones.
These transactions took place as the FTX Recovery Trust proceeded with its creditor payment schedule. The estate has scheduled a $2.2 billion payment for March, which will be the fourth release under the Chapter 11 reorganization. Ether traded at $2,732.41 during the period of these transfers.
Available onchain data does not indicate that Wintermute sold the ether or that the funds were allocated for creditor repayments. While transfers to market makers may reflect intent to sell or hedge large positions without using direct exchange channels, the data does not confirm the specific purpose of this transfer. Wintermute did not immediately reply to a request for confirmation. The FTX Recovery Trust has not released public statements about the movements.
